BioEcon is a research project aimed at the development of bio-economy in Poland

 


On 21 October 2016 in the Lublin Marshal Office was held a meeting on key smart specialization for Lublin region- bioeconomy. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Marshal Office, Lublin Eco-Energy Cluster, Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation - National Research Institute in Pulawy and Lublin Development Foundation. During the meeting, presentations were made by representatives of the Bioeconomy and Systems Analysis Department of IUNG BIP. Dr. Magdalena Borzęcka discussed the establishment of the "bioeconomy, new strategies for Poland (BioEcon)." Dr. Jerzy Kozyra approached issues related to global climate change and its impact on climate change in Poland, and Dr. Rafal Pudelko presented the resource potential of straw and its surplus in the Lublin region.
After the presentations there was a discussion on the future of bioeconomy in the region, development of the platform proposed by IUNG and networking opportunities.

  • collection and processing of statistical and spatial data relating to agriculture, energy (in the context of renewable energy sources) and nature protection,
  • construction of a geographical information system for research in the field of bio-economy,
  • creating interactive web applications for obtaining, modeling and dissemination of knowledge in the field of bio-economy,
  • research and development  of information decision support systems for prosumer model,
  • performing interdisciplinary research and system analysis,
  • development of deterministic and stochastic models of processes and phenomena.
